How To Book Safari

The Forest Department (Indian government) regulates safari reservations in Ranthambore National Park. There is an online safari booking option for Ranthambore National Park. We provide online safari reservations, as well as through the Ranthambore Forest Department website. In Ranthambore National Park, only two vehicle types are permitted for jungle excursions: the Jeep, also known as the Gipsy, and the Canter, popularly known as the Open Safari Bus.

Only six individuals can fit in a jeep, while 20 people can sit in a canter. Only safari seats in jeeps and canters are reserved by the forest department. Only vehicle numbers are assigned after the first allocation of 6 seats per jeep and 20 seats each canter. No seats are assigned by the department on the safari van. Visitors choose seats at random based on the available space in the car. You can have a jungle adventure with other visitors if you and your partner book two seats in a jeep or canter. With a jungle safari in Ranthambore National Park, a naturalist or forest guide is required.

Bookings for Ranthambore's jungle safaris are accepted all year round. A jungle excursion can now be reserved online 365 days in advance. When making a safari reservation, the safari zone is also chosen. There are ten separate safari gates or zones in Ranthambore National Park. The Forest Department sends a limited number of cars to each of these Ranthambore safari zones. There are two jungle safari shifts available at Ranthambore National Park, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. About three and a half hours pass throughout the forest safari tour.

For reservations for the Ranthambore jungle safari, the park admission cost, guide charge, and vehicle seat fee are all paid in full. First come, first served reservations for Jungle Safari are non-refundable and non-transferable. Vehicles for the safari are assigned the day of the safari. Due to Ranthambore National Park's restrictions on the number of permitted vehicles, jungle safaris are subject to availability.

  • Safari Date and Shift (Morning/Afternoon) Selected
  • Jeep or Canter: Selected Safari Vehicle Type
  • Give each guest a photo ID card and their number. Please bring the original of the same ID that you supplied for the Safari booking, and give a copy of everyone's photo identity proof (these can be scanned and emailed, as soon as available).
  • Any of the following identity documents—a passport, an Aadhaar, a driving licence, a PAN card, a voter ID card, a student ID or an office ID—can be used as proof of identity for Indian citizens.

  • Prior to the drive, preferred safari zones may not be available.
  • Choose a hotel or boarding house in Ranthambore.

  • It is quite challenging to make a last-minute safari reservation because there are so few safari vehicles that can enter the national parks. Pre-ordering a safari is advisable.
  • Park fees could change at any time without prior notification. Since we have no control over this, if the price changes after booking, the tourist will be responsible for making up the difference when they enter the park.
  • Only safari seats in jeeps and canters are reserved by the forest department. No seats are assigned by the department on the safari van. Visitors choose seats at random based on the available space in the car.
  • 15 minutes prior to the safari's scheduled departure, guests must arrive at the boarding location.
  • Before entering the park, identity documentation is required.
